The term 'Maxi' refers to dogs whose adult weight is between 26kg and 45kg.

Maxi-sized dogs are typically faithful and affectionate, making ideal pets. They were traditionally treasured for their incredible working abilities, and are superb at herding, tracking, rescue and assistance.

As Maxi dogs are particularly prone to sensitive digestion, Royal Canin Maxi formulas contain ingredients such as prebiotics to help maintain a healthy digestive system. Royal Canin Maxi Mature

At 6 years old a large dog has not yet entered old age, but still has certain requirements that must be taken into account in its diet. Dull hair, slow digestion and greater kidney sensitivity start to become noticeable; with the correct diet these signs of ageing can be slowed down significantly.

Royal Canin Maxi Adult Mature is an exceptionally tasty dry food in ideally sized mouthfuls, with a high proportion of animal protein (chicken, turkey, fish, casein, egg). High levels of vitamins C and E help prevent premature ageing, while the low phosphorus content avoids straining the kidneys and high fibre levels facilitiate the digestive functions. Royal Canin Maxi Adult is enriched with borage oil, for a thick, shiny coat.

Maintaining healthy joint cartilage and optimal digestive function are top concerns for maturing large breed dogs. A diet with glucosamine hydrochloride and chondroitin sulfate, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and an optimal amino-acid profile will help maintain large breed mature dogs health and vitality. It is important that their diet be fortified with chicory extracts to help maintain optimal digestive function resulting in small, firm stools.
